Ken-Bu-Kan classes provide training for all ages and ability. Children can enjoy training in a safe environment with close supervision, developing many skills, as well as having fun. Adults can enjoy traditional training, focusing on fitness, self confidence, and of course self defence. The Ken-Bu-Kan club maintains an exceptionally high standard of training and boasts many individual and team National Champions.

Ken-Bu-Kan Karate School is a member of the Wado International Karate-Do Federation (WIKF England), the largest Wado Ryu Karate organisation in the world. Our instructors, Sensei Andy Michaelides (5th Dan) and Sensei Costas Michaelides (4th Dan), train directly under Master Tatsuo Suzuki 8th Dan Hanshi, WIKF's chief instructor.

Our instructors are first generation students who began their training many years ago under Master Tatsuo Suzuki, passing all Kyu gradings with Japanese examiners. All their black belt gradings were examined by Master Tatsuo Suzuki, and are officially registered and recognised throughout the world. They have stuck to the true and traditional approach to learning a Martial Art, remaining loyal to a single instructor. As such, they are always aware of the latest techniques and teaching methods, through constant contact with Master Suzuki.

Students training at the Ken-Bu-Kan school, can enjoy the benefits of being part of a registered organisation in the UK and Japan. All Kyu gradings take place within the school, and are examined by qualified instructors and authorised examiners, and adhere to the WIKF syllabus and rules. All Dan (Black Belt) gradings are taken under strict conditions, with only Master Tatsuo Suzuki along with other Senior Instructors able to examine students taking these gradings. Successful students at black belt level, are comforted and proud, knowing that their Black Belt certificates are registered in Japan, making WIKF Black Belt students officially recognised throughout the World.
